Poppy’s Closet on Scout-a Mom’s guide…
Aug 19th, 2010 by Poppy

La La LITTL!

Poppy’s closet is easily becoming one of my favorite online shops. They have quite an eye over there, finding some of the most unique kids clothes and accessories around. They have just added Littl by Lilit to their shop. OMG…it’s absolutely adorable! I can’t compare it to anything else, you just have to see for yourself…

I want to own a shirt like this!
under a skirt…these leggings are perfection!
How about this soft jersey jacket paired with this voile scarf?!

Girl's Senorita Dress from Poppy's Closet

Senorita Dress from Poppy’s Closet

I may be a modern gal with decidedly contemporary likes, but I also like to bring lots of vintage and quirky tidbits into the mix. I think I’m starting to expand my idea of modern, into that of unique. That seems to be the buzzword in lifestyle trends anyway: the rise of the individual. Kind of hard to do in a world where everything is available to everyone, isn’t it? The cool thing is, this . . . shall we say . . . philosophy allows for some amazing retail opportunities. Like, Poppy’s Closet. I found this new shop through their equally cool blog, Peter Piper Picked. I knew their blog was good when we featured the same 2 products in 2 weeks. Poppy’s Closet has figured out the whole individuality thing for you. I don’t know where they’ve found all these great pieces, but I swear I’d like one of everything in her closet! Including this Senorita Dress. Does it remind you of 1970’s never-taken trips to Mexico too? It’s filled with all the details I love in kids clothing, in a light and airy fabric that’s perfect for Birdie this summer. She removed the ribbon bow immediately, but her keen eye of fashion is fine by me (and the dress works well without the bow). Though it’s sized by year (1, 2, etc.), the beauty of a dress is that size is a relative term. Birdie, at 16 mos., looks comfy and cool in the 2 year old size now, and will look funkier this winter when we layer it over a T-shirt or under a sweater. Ah, kids fashion. Such a silly thing, but so much fun!!!

Poppy’s Closet

OMG, seriously. I was reading Tot Trends Weekly Magazine yesterday and I nearly fell out of my chair. I am in love with a brand new shop called Poppy’s Closet.
Poppy’s Closet opened their doors last month and already they are ahead of the game.  The assortment cannot be beat. A mix of chic, silly, bohemian, rockstar, organic, preppy & party can please even the smallest fashionista.
Sizes range from itty-bitty babies to 6 years of age.
What does Poppy like?
Poppy’s daily style varies depending on her moods or the occasion.  She handpicks each and every item herself and pairs it with accessories that really make each outfit special and unique.
Poppy makes shopping fun! Check out the different ways to shop…
And of everything on the site, this is my must have item.
by my Etsy favorite, Gracious May!
I am such a sucker for itty-bitty shoes!

Poppy’s Closet for Chic, Silly, Rock Star, Prep and Bohemian Styles

POPPY Poppys Closet for Chic, Silly, Rock Star, Prep and Bohemian Styles

Poppy’s Closet is a new on-line boutique with fashions for the chic, bohemian, preppy, silly and rock star in all of our little ones. Poppy’s Closet is one-stop-shop of the very best in trendy and unique clothing, a treasure trove of goodies! It’s hard to single out just one item, but I fell in love with the below 70’s Surf Shorts ($48) from Little Woo. Maybe it’s because I want to celebrate the inner surfer in me, but I will be dressing my little girl in these shorts this summer. (She can pull it off, too!) Check out the fantastic selection of clothes for boys, girls and babies and experience the fun of exploring their inner prep, bohemian, rock star and (my favorite) surfer. Shop Poppy’s Closet and hang loose, peace out, rock ‘n roll… CLICK HERE FOR ARTICLE LINK

Poppy’s Closet is just fabulous

I’m on my lunch break … the time in the day when I allow myself a few minutes to check emails and potter about online. I leave Little Guy wandering about entertaining himself, sometimes he even still takes a nap which is lovely.

Speaking of lovely I found this beautiful shop in my Twitter mail. Poppy’s Closet is just gorgeous. I love the clothes, the fresh layout, the font and most of all I love the way Poppy has organised the categories: Chic, Bohemian, Rockstar – aren’t they cool?!

I don’t know anything more about Poppy’s Closet except that it’s based in the US so shipping appears to be restricted to the States (hopefully just for now!). I am lusting after these Ahoy Matey Big Ship shorts.

My recommendation for the day = Poppy’s Closet. I am off to befriend the owner and see if I can learn more.
